The Probus Club of St Annes-on-the-Sea

Bill Hodson
1929 - 5 January 2009

Bill was born in Darwen in 1929.  He was one of two brothers and one sister (who survived them both).  He started work at Courtaulds where he was employed for many years as an engineer and married Anne in 1959.  They had three daughters (Jane, Claire and Emma).

After changing his place of employment to BAE Systems at Warton, he came to live in Lytham St. Annes.

Bill joined our Probus Club in 1998 and was our President in 2000 - 2001.  He was a keen walker, often booking walking holidays to Switzerland where he held his 50th Wedding Anniversary.  Another keen hobby was studying and exploring Abbeys all over England.  He also had a passion for music and world travel.

Unfortunately, Bill suffered from diabetes and had to have a leg amputated.  He never recovered from this and lost his life with heart failure.
