I thank you all very sincerely for electing me to be your President for the forthcoming Probus year. It’s a great honour for me – as I look around the room and remember the list of Past Presidents I am very conscious of those that have gone before me in this office. They have all certainly set the bar very high and my ambition will be to do as well as they all have during their years in office. I have been a member of Probus since 2000 and I have very much enjoyed coming along on Thursday mornings. A large number of individuals put a lot of effort into the Club week after week which makes it work as smoothly and seamlessly as it appears to do. Now I feel it’s my turn to do the same; to make a contribution and put something back into the Club. That’s my aim and I will certainly be trying to do my best.
