47) The Avro RJX Regional Jet transport.  This was the latest development of the successful Avro RJ and BAE 146 family of aircraft and the first flight was in April 2001.  RJX development had been carried out by the partnership of BAE  with Augusta-Westland and the engine supplier Honeywell.  In December 2001, BAE announced that it would cancel the RJX programme, citing the economic climate following the events of 11 September 2001, one of the major factors that spelt the end for Concorde, too.
